1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to the JEdu cloud School ERP, related websites, parent and staff portals, and optional communication features, including WhatsApp when a school enables them. “School”, “you”, and “your” mean the licensed school and its authorized users. “JEdu”, “we”, and “us” mean the operator of jedu.in.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, signing in, purchasing a license, or using JEdu, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you are accepting for a school, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that school. If you do not agree, do not use JEdu.
3. Description of JEdu
JEdu is a hosted School ERP licensed to individual schools. Features may include student management, fees, attendance, admissions, academics, HR and payroll tools, a parent portal, a school website option, and communication modules. Feature availability depends on the school’s plan, configuration, and enabled integrations. JEdu is not a bank, payment network, or legal advisory service.
4. Eligibility and Authorized Use
JEdu is intended for schools and their authorized staff, and for parents or guardians the school invites to a portal. You must use JEdu only for lawful school administration and related communication. You may not access another school’s workspace or data. Students should use JEdu only as permitted by their school.
5. School Administrator Responsibilities
The school is responsible for:
- deciding which staff and parents receive access, and for keeping those roles accurate;
- the accuracy of student, fee, attendance, and staff data it enters;
- obtaining any consents or notices required to process personal data and to send WhatsApp, SMS, or email;
- configuring WhatsApp, payment, and other integrations only with credentials the school is authorized to use;
- using approved message templates and avoiding spam or misleading communications; and
- complying with education, employment, tax, and telecom rules that apply to the school.
6. Account Registration and Security
Keep usernames, passwords, and API tokens confidential. The school is responsible for activity under its accounts. Notify support@jedu.in promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. JEdu may suspend access to protect the platform or other customers if we reasonably believe an account is compromised or misused.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- probe, disrupt, or overload JEdu, or attempt to bypass authentication or tenancy isolation;
- upload malware, or use JEdu to send unlawful, harassing, or deceptive content;
- use WhatsApp or other channels to send unsolicited marketing in violation of Meta, telecom, or other applicable rules;
- resell JEdu except as expressly agreed in writing; or
- misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for a school.
8. Student / Parent Data Responsibilities
School data remains the school’s responsibility. JEdu processes that data to provide the service. The school must not enter information it is not allowed to hold. Parents who believe a record is wrong should contact the school first. JEdu can assist the school with technical access, correction, or deletion requests as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.
9. WhatsApp and Communication Services
If a school enables WhatsApp Business Platform / Meta WhatsApp Cloud API inside JEdu, the school authorizes JEdu to send and receive school-related messages (such as fee reminders, notifications, announcements, and parent chats) using the school’s configured WhatsApp Business account and Meta credentials.
Delivery to a recipient’s phone depends on Meta, the recipient’s WhatsApp account, template approval, and network conditions. JEdu does not guarantee that every accepted API request will be delivered or read. Status labels in JEdu (for example sent, delivered, read, or failed) reflect information JEdu has received from Meta’s APIs or webhooks, which may be delayed or unavailable.
The school must follow Meta’s WhatsApp Business terms, template policies, and user opt-out expectations. JEdu may disable a communication feature if Meta or a provider suspends the underlying account, or if use appears to put the platform at risk.
10. Third-Party Services
JEdu interoperates with third parties (including Meta/WhatsApp, hosting providers, and optional payment tools). Those services have their own terms. JEdu is not responsible for outages, policy changes, or data handling by third parties beyond our reasonable control. Credentials you paste into JEdu (such as API tokens) are used only to operate the integration you enabled.
11. Fees and Payments
License fees, if any, are those quoted to the school or shown on the Pricing page and any order or invoice we issue. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, fees are for the subscription period stated on the invoice and are not automatically refunded if the school stops using some modules. School-collected student fees belong to the school; JEdu is not the merchant of record for parent fee payments unless a separate written arrangement says so.
12. Intellectual Property
JEdu, the jedu.in website, software, design, and documentation are owned by JEdu or its licensors. Schools receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use JEdu during an active license. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from JEdu except as allowed by law. The school retains rights in the data it uploads.
13. User Content and School Data
You grant JEdu a limited right to host, back up, display, and transmit school data solely to provide and secure the service, including sending communications the school initiates. We do not claim ownership of student records or school content. You are responsible for content you post (including WhatsApp message bodies and templates you submit to Meta).
14. Service Availability
We aim to keep JEdu available and will take reasonable steps to restore service after incidents. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Internet, hosting, Meta, or local power issues can affect access. Plan school-critical processes with that in mind.
15. Maintenance and Updates
JEdu may apply updates, security patches, and feature changes. We may add, modify, or retire features when we reasonably need to, including where a third-party API changes. We try to avoid unnecessary disruption and may perform maintenance during lower-use hours where practical.
16. Suspension and Termination
A school may stop using JEdu by notice to info@jedu.in according to its commercial arrangement. JEdu may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, material breach, legal risk, or to protect the service. We will provide notice where reasonably practical except where immediate action is needed for security or legal reasons.
17. Data Handling After Termination
After termination, the school should export any data it needs while access remains. Upon written request to support@jedu.in, we will work with the school to delete or disable access to the workspace, subject to backup cycles, legal retention (for example invoices), and time needed to complete the request. Deletion is handled as an operational process; it is not claimed here as an instantaneous automated purge of every log or backup copy.
18. Disclaimers
JEdu is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that reports, fee balances, attendance, or WhatsApp statuses are free of input error or third-party delay. Schools remain responsible for verifying critical records before relying on them for official decisions.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, JEdu and its operators will not be liable for lost profits, lost data, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for Meta/WhatsApp non-delivery. Our aggregate liability arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the license fees the school actually paid to JEdu for the three months before the claim (or, if none, a modest amount consistent with a complimentary or evaluation use). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in that case our liability is limited to the maximum extent those laws allow. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as for fraud or personal injury where such an exclusion is prohibited.
20. Indemnification
The school will defend and indemnify JEdu against claims arising from the school’s data, its communications (including WhatsApp content), its failure to obtain required consents, or its misuse of JEdu, except to the extent a claim is caused by JEdu’s wilful misconduct.
21. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last Updated” date on this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for subsequent use. If you do not agree, stop using JEdu and contact us to discuss your license.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply another country’s law. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be brought in the courts that have jurisdiction in connection with JEdu’s published business address in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
